The Work
We work on lots of interesting and challenging projects. Recent examples have included simulating billions of football matches; complex statistical modelling; real-time push over the web; and building a "mythbuster" engine to test tacit football wisdom against hard data. Things move fast here, and we have new projects all the time. We're always trying out the latest technologies and learning new things.
We care about the professional development of our developers. You'll always be encouraged to learn new skills, and we'll pay for any book or conference you like the look of. We also set aside time every week for our developers to work on any project they like; the only rule is that you have to present your idea to the team. If you can persuade your peers something is a good idea, they'll help you build it.
The Environment
Our IT team is friendly, and smart: it's nice to work with great people so we are determined to hire the very best people we can. The company is young and retains the feel of a start-up, but we're also profitable and amongst the best in the world at what we do. The culture is performance based, so you'll be judged on your abilities and results, rather than hours or length of service.
We value team spirit, and perhaps have inherited some social democracy from our Danish founders: everyone brings ideas to the table, and the best idea wins. It's a flexible work environment where you can manage your own time. Our company structure is simple with very little bureaucracy, and the management are always approachable.
We have gourmet catered lunches every day, free fruit, snacks and Nespresso, a social space with video games and a table-tennis table, fun social get-togethers, our own 5-a-side football teams, as well as clubs for running and cycling.
When you start you'll also get your own choice of kit: our current developers use a mix of powerful Linux and Mac machines, all with at least three screens and an electronic, height-adjustable desk.
