Noemi

Football Watcher

Background

When I found the ad for this position, I couldn't believe my eyes – it was my dream job! Football has always been my passion and I have always been deeply involved – working with Livorno Calcio, reporting on matches and playing the game too.

To be honest, I don't know where this huge passion come from but I've always been passionate about everything related to football. I guess that's why I also find myself enjoying watching matches from all leagues; whether it be Italian Serie A, Scottish playoffs, or the Ukrainian Vischaya league. It gives me an insight into different playing styles and a chance to discover new teams and talents before everyone else. Actually I try to book so many games every weekend that one of my colleagues once called me the 'watching robot'.

Working at Football Radar

My job at Football Radar is to watch matches and log them in our software system. It is very different to watching a game at the stadium with friends or on the sofa. You have to concentrate and be attentive all the time.

It is hard work, but I think every match is interesting and I keep challenging myself to analyse the situations the right way. We are also encouraged to improve our analysis and I learn a lot from monthly feedback meetings, as well as from my colleagues when we discuss a match.

The atmosphere at Football Radar is professional, but still friendly. One of the things that always makes me smile while I'm watching my matches is when people occasionally start to play football in the office. We can't help it, we're all 100% football fans!
